Two girls on the Seashore on a windy day, one holding her wide-brimmed hat with both hands, her maid pointing to a rock on which the waves are breaking in spray,thus illustrating the poem by Minamoto no Shigeyuki at the head of the print, ‘As wind-driven waves break on a rock into spray, so my love and my happiness are scattered by your refusal.”  1767/68
