Dramatic depiction of the Japanese attacking Port Arthur during the Sino-Japanese War. The battlefield is an absolute melee as troops overrun the Chinese position, the soldiers in the centre using their guns and clubs. At right. A soldier knocks an enemy from his horse with his bayonet. Flags flutter above the smoke billowing across the scene, and the entrance gate can be seen at left. Detailed with fine bokashi shading.
