Dramatic depiction of the naval Battle of the Yellow Sea during the Sino-Japanese War. The warship Saikyomaru, a converted merchant cruiser, is shown at centre flying the Japanese flag as it comes under fire from the Chinese. Explosions rock the ship, sending clouds of smoke skywards, with ships at either side hit as well. The Chinese ship at left begins to list as sprays of water jet up from the choppy seas. A dramatic design with wonderful colour and shading from this modern navy battle.
