Triptych image from the the Sino-Japanese War of Captain Matsuzaki leading his troops across the Ansong River during the Battle of Asan. As they reached the shore they came under enemy attack. The valiant officer urged his men forward even after being wounded by a bullet, waving his sword high to lead the charge, regardless of his personal safety. His men wade through the rushing waist-deep river, holding their guns above the water as shots begin to strike. Clouds of smoke issue from the enemy's guns firing along the shore as Chinese rush forward at left waving swords.
A dramatic design, with an atmospheric night setting and the Japanese flag waving above the soldiers. Brushed detail in the black uniforms and fine cloth embossing in the flag.
